This procedure enables you to construct a set of scales to put your data points on for a quick as-
sessment of the relationship, particularly if you want to compare a linear-linear to a semi-log to a
log-log plot to see which gives the best presentation. You can use commercial paper later when
you have decided the appropriate scales to use and want to make a “pretty” plot for a report.
